Pumpkin Head Helmet Idea
I 3D-modeled a pumpkin head and though it would be a cool costume idea if you had a pumpkin head helmet with some other clothes of your choosing.
You could 3D print a pumpkin that would perfectly fit your head, or find and carve a pumpkin about the size of your head.
Supplies
To 3D model a pumpkin, you can use practically any program.
I first made a 10in circle in the front plane. I then made a 3in circle in the right plane with it's center lined up on the edge of the last circle. After that, I used the sweep tool with the 3in circle as it's shape and the 10in circle as its path.
I made a line in the center of my "donut" and used the circular pattern tool set to 12 instances to make the body of my pumpkin.
After, I made a plane that is the front plane offset 7in to the forwards, and sketched a face onto my pumpkin.
I then "carved" my pumpkin by extruding the face under the remove option by 7in.
To make the stem, I made another plane that was the top plane offset by 6in to the up. I made a 2in circle in the center of my pumpkin. I then made a squiggly shape that would become the profile of the stem. I made another plane and made a circle of 1in with it's center on the line I made earlier. I then lofted my stem.
Afterwards, I made multiple dots that would become points for a 3d spline that would become a vine.
This next part is a little inconvenient, but I made a box to be able to make a tilted plane as I needed a straight line as a point of reference to make the plane rotate. I then sketched a 0.3in circle to be the diameter of my vine.
Now, I could finally sweep it!
I filleted the end of the vine a bit to be more round.
I then proceeded to make another plane that was offset 6in to touch the bottom of the pumpkin. After that, I made a 7in circle, or whatever size your head is, and extruded it to make a hole for my head.
And there you have it! Your very own pumpkin head helmet!
Of course, you could choose to actually carve it with a real pumpkin, and the pumpkin I made wasn't originally created to be worn, I don't even know if it'll actually fit me. Its also not proportioned to fit a face.
Though I hope you have fun making your own pumpkin!
Costume Ideas
I drew some costume ideas that could work. A cute pumpkin girl with a cardboard knife, and a cool pumpkin guy with a sleek red suit. You could also wear other things like a wizard robe or a knight's outfit.
Another Idea
You could wire some red (or any color) led into one or both of the pumpkin eyes to make a spooky glowing effect.
Another Idea
You could put a smoke machine into the pumpkin to have a spooky effect that will add an extra level of creepy to your porch or costume.
Different Pumpkin Ideas
I made some different pumpkin carving ideas you can use instead. Have fun pumpkining!
