Portable Table Top Air Hockey Table

For our project, we decided to build a table top, portable air hockey table. To do this we mainly used scrap pieces and 3D printed components. We decided to build an air hockey table because we loved to play it as kids.

Supplies

To build our Air Hockey Table we used scrap wood, drills, screws, a spare whiteboard, a chop saw, fans, CNC machine, 3d printers, a table saw, a nail gun and Fusion 360.

We Built the Main Frame

We built the frame using spare 2 by 6 boards, and added sheet wood to the bottom

Fans

We cut holes for the fans, and screwed the fans to the main frame. We also connected the wiring through power strip so we only needed one plug.

Silicon and Sealing

We added silicon to make sure there were no air leaks.

The Whiteboard

We used the CNC machine to add holes to the whiteboard and we connected it to the main frame, sealing it completely.

Adding the Outline for the Rink

We cut out an oval, and used the frame as the walls for the air hockey puck, as well as holes for the goals

Goals

We made the goals out of scrap wood, made it so the puck fell through, and landed on a platform underneath making it easy to collect after getting scored on

Final Additions

We made a scoreboard out of wood, and 3D printed the puck and handles to complete the project.
