Pork and Black Bean Chili
This spicy, smoky pork and black bean chili is easily a favorite at our house whether that be on game day or a warm day in!
Supplies
- 10 oz ground pork
- Fiesta shredded cheese
- 1 can black beans
- 1 can petite diced tomatoes
- Sour cream
- Hot sauce
- Mesquite seasoning
- Chili Powder
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 onion
- 1 jalapeno
Slice, Mince Produce
- Slice and mince the onion and jalapeno (slice 1/2 of the jalapeno and mince the other 1/2 and the whole onion)
Sear Onion and Jalapeno
- pan-sear onion and jalapeno in a pan on low heat until brown and season with salt and pepper to taste
Brown Pork
- Cook ground pork until browned and add salt, pepper, and chili powder to taste
Dash of Mesquite
- Dash a lid full of Mesquite seasoning into the meat
Open, Drain Cans
- Open and drain cans of black beans, petite diced tomatoes and add tomato paste
Step 6: Combine
- Combine onions, jalapenos, petite diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and black beans with the meat and seasonings
Stir Contents
- Stir all of those components together and add more water or beef broth as needed
Simmer
- let chili simmer on low heat for 2 hours and add more water as needed
Mix the Cream
- Mix together in a separate bowl three spoonfuls of sour cream and hot sauce until mixture is orange
Combine
- Scoop a serving of chili into a bowl and garnish with a spoonful of the crema mixture, the leftover diced jalapenos and a dash of fiesta shredded cheese
