Pontius Pilates Ring
The cultural artifact I created is a ring that is believed to have belonged to Pontius Pilates, the Roman governor that ordered the execution on Jesus.
Creating the Frame of the Ring
I used the tube shape rather than the ring shape to create the frame because some sort of width is needed to this ring. In the image it is orange, but the color should be a brownish color because the metal got rusty.
The shape details of the frame are in the image above and they are set to the dimensions that are as close as possible to the original artifact.
Size: 5 x15 mm
Height: 14.5 mm
Creating the Surface
I used the cylinder shape to create the surface part of the ring. It is important that the surface sits slightly below the top of the frame for the next step. The dimensions of the cylinder are shown above.
Size: 10 x 10mm
Height 1.5mm
