Pocket Hole Jig Station. DIY. Cheap and Simple
Hello!
Today i will show you how to make quick and easy Pocket Hole Jig Station. Pocket holes are one of many methods of joining wood together. It uses the simplest of joinery- right angle cuts mostly, and relies on the mechanical strength of screws to hold an assembly together. Although glue is sometimes used to augment it, the screws themselves do most of the work.
Original kreg jigs are very expensive. My project will allow you to save lots of money and you can spend them for some other tools. Besides the jig can be dismounted and used freely about the workpiece.
Tools that i used:
- Clamps
Lets start! I took an oak Board and mark center. Then i cut two pieces of board. I will use them as a support for pocket hole jig. I used jig and drilled holes in this supports. Add some glue and fixed with screws.
If you do everything right, then you will get flat surface with right angle.
Now I will make a mount for the vacuum cleaner. I cut two pieces of board 8*8 cm and add one more pieces between them. The vacuum cleaner pipe is attached very tightly.
Now we shuld make a fixing clamp. I take F Clamp and replace one pice (as shown on the picture)
Now we need to fix this clamp to the base. I cut two pieces of wood and drilled holes in it. Fixed with screws.
Thats it, we all done! Our Pocket Hole Jig System is ready and we a redy to try it in work. Thanks to this clamp we can fixed wood with different width. Vacuum dust remover work perfect.
I spend about $ 15 on this project, but it works just as well as the $150 original jig.
I hope you like it! Thanks for watching and have a nice day!
