Pisay Passionita

The project aims to repurpose female Pisay uniforms of graduating students to more casual items that can be used even outside of school. This contains a set of items to cater a variety of needs of the students. The items included are a scrunchie and a mini bag.

• Tailor's chalk
• Garter
• Sewing machine
• Thread
• Safety pin

Use the paper to make a pattern for the parts of the bag and scrunchie you want to make.I used 4 9" by 10" for the base of the bag and 40" by 2" for the strap. The scrunchie was 2.5" by 8".

Once the paper patterns fit your preferences as you put them together, trace the pattern to the fabric. Make sure you put allowance before cutting.

These are the parts:

• 2 inner fabrics (9" by 10")
• 2 outer fabrics (9" by 10")
• 1 strap (40" by 2")
• 1 scrunchie (2.5" by 8")

Place the inner fabrics together, with the right side facing each other and the wrong sides seen on the outside. Pin the fabrics for it to not move. Sew 3 sides of the bag (leave last side unsewn). Do the same for the outer fabrics.

Flip the inner fabrics inside out, with the right side now seen in the outside. Put the outer fabrics inside the inner fabrics and align the openings of both. Sew the rims of both fabrics together, while still leaving an opening.

Flip the edge over from the opening so 1.5 inches of the outer fabric's right side can be seen on top. Sew the bottom of this section around the bag to create a partition for the garter. Leave a tiny opening unsewn for the garter.

Fold the strap fabric lengthwise so that the right side faces each other and the wrong side is seen outside. Sew the longest side of the fabric together. Once the straw is all sewn, flip it inside out. Sew the strap on the inside part of the bag, with both ends aligning to the stitches of the base.

Pierce the end of the garter using a safety pin. Use the pin as the guide to loop the garter inside the partition made in step 5. Tighten the garter as desired then sew the ends together. Sew the small opening.

To create a box-like shape on the base of the bag, lay the fabric flat with the stitching of the base fabrics aligned in the middle. Sew along the corner of the fabric to mimic a triangular shape as seen in the picture. Do the same for the other corner.

1. Fold the scrunchie fabric lengthwise so that the right side faces each other and the wrong side is seen outside.
2. Sew the longest side of the fabric together, but skip a small partition.
3. Flip it inside out until the two openings ar aligned.
4. Sew around both openings.
5. Once finished, flip the fabric inside out from the small partition.
6. Pierce the end of the garter using a safety pin. Use the pin as the guide to loop the garter inside the scrunchie.
7. Tighten the garter as desired then sew the ends together.
8. Sew the small partition.
