With the hammer, the cent piece is struck thinner and thinner. Usually it has a thickness of 2 mm, I have flattened it to 0. 5 mm.

You can heat the metal, it'll be easier. If you want to get rid of trouble, don't make it hot.

Drill

Now two holes are drilled. A small one at the edge, here 2 mm, and a thick one in the middle, I took 8 mm for it.

If you want to make a different shape, you might not need the second hole. Be careful and wear gloves.

Caution Hot

Paint the motive you want to work out. With a grinding wheel you grind from the outside to where the petals meet. Be careful, the coin gets very hot, so wear gloves or hold it with pliers.

Getting in Shape

Now the petals are worked out with different diamond cutters. For this, it is best to grind roughly around it, so that the sharp edges disappear. Then do the fine-tuning until you're satisfied.

Everything Has Two Sides

As you may have noticed, the inside of the coin is made of steel and is therefore silver. That's why I sanded off the copper pad on one side. So I have a silver flower on one side, a copper flower on the other.

When this is done, you can smooth the flower with sandpaper of different grain sizes. I use 120 – 600. Then apply polishing paste.

Finally, an eyelet is attached. A chain is threaded through these. Voila, you can rejoice
