Peanut Butter Lid Mini Tripod for Webcam and Small Cameras
hi every one this is my first instructable so i hope every one can understand me
this tripod can be use for a webcam or a small camera
so let get started the things you are going to need 2 punt butter jar lids of the size u want the base to be
next you will need 1 mini tripod i got this plastic one from the 99 cents store a long time ago
but u can still find some on Amazon or other web site on line just google it
next you will need epoxy glue then next a Phillips screwdriver, exacto knife, some sand
if you want to add some weight to it keeps from tipping over then a small screw not sure on the size
you will need to play with different lengths to get the right length that you will need
and some spray paint this part is optional and some gloves like what a doctor use
Step 1 Making a Hole in the Lid
the first thing you're going to do is make a hole in the middle of the peanut butter jar lid
so that the screw can go through
Step:2 Optional Painting
if you want your's to be black or any other color then u will pray paint it out side
if u do not care of the color then skip this step but if u going to paint it make sure to do it out side
or in a well-ventilated place if it's windy then make use a box just cut one whole side out
Step 3 Taking the Lags Off
under the legs you will see a screw take your Phillips screwdriver and remove that screw
Step 4 Attaching the Tripod Head to the Peanut Butter Jar Lid
take your tripod head and place it over the hole and now you're going to play with different screw lengths to find the right length that you will need once you have found the right size screw length now go ahead and attach the tripod head into the peanut butter jar lid make sure it's tight but also make sure you don't over tighten it
Step 5 Cutting Hole on the Second Peanut Butter Jar Lid
on this step u going to cut a hole do not drill the hole u need to cute a hole with your exacto knife and keep the tab that u cut out
as for the hole size make it small but not to small make it a little bit bigger then the size of what a hole puncher can make
now the tab that you just cut out you will keep this because your going to need it later try your best to cut the hole as round as you can
Step 6 Gluing the Two Peanut Butter Jar Lids Together
take one of your peanut butter jar lids and your epoxy glue make sure your wearing some glove
like what the doctors use
with the plastic packaging that your epoxy glue came in take your epoxy glue and squeeze some into the plastic packaging mix it good but do not mix to long as it will dry very fast
put some on all around the lid then attach the 2 lid together try to get the lids even all around make sure u add enough glue to the lid but try not to over load the lid or it will leek over if it leek to much out you can try wipe it off before it drys with some thin wood like popsicle stick now wait about 15 to 30 minutes to be sure the glue is dry
Step 7 Final Step
after it dry and it glued good take the sand and pore the sand in the lid hole that u made
keep poring until it completely full tap the side to work the sand in more after u have fill it to the very max then mix more glue and put some in the hole make sure u put enough in the hole then get your small tab that you saved and put it in the hole try not to let it go all the way in because u might loos the tab in side let the glue dry again now there is 2 more option u can add u can buy a rubber sheet and glue it to the bottom but the glue u will need will be a different kinds of glue not sure what glue you should get but u can ask at a Home Depot or any other hardware stores you can also put felt if u did not want to scratch your desk to glue the felt u can use the same glue just try to use small amount or u can see if there other kind of glue that might work better so rubber for grip and felt so that you do not scratch the surface that you put it on
