Overhead Lift Up Cabinet Closing Sistem
Hi im samuel mayorga, i my house we have this overhead lift up cabinet system in the kitchen, it breaks kind of frequently, so i wanted to make a cheaper solution that it doesn't need to replace as often, originally the system was lifted up by a hydraulic cylinder that was previously charged with air when you buy it the thing its that when the cabinet its closed the cylinder builds up a lot of pressure the thing is that cabinet its closed most of the time so it is always under pressure and this over time breaks the air seal and the air inside the hydraulic runs out leaving a cabinet that doesn't work and that you have to hold because if you don't it falls on your head, we usually store the dishes and cups here and its uncomfortable taking the dishes out holding the door at the same time, so i knew i had to solve the problem, i could be holded with air anymore so it had to be fully mechanic.
Supplies
-3D printer (ender 3 moded)
-filament
-time
Figuring Out the Desing
So the first step is figuring out how the system its gona work, so i drew how could the system work like shown in the first drawing.
Next i figured out some measurements for it by calculating the distance of the hypotenuse of the lil triangle shown in the middle of the second photo.
Making the Design in Cad (part One)
With those measures i jumped into solid works and started drawing like shown in the first photo, then i extrude the drawing by 6 millimeters so the tip where it was gona be screwed had the same with and height as shown in the second image.
Then i made a circle on the tip mentioned before so i can make screw, i did the screw part and fillet some things for it to look better as shown in the third picture.
Here ill leave the stl if you want to print it.
Making the Design in Cad (Part Two)
Then i designed the center was gona be the one doing all the magic, this one its made from tpu for the little bump inside could flex when its under pressure and the door can come down.
First i sketched and extruded a circle, in one of its faces i draw a smaller circle and also did the same with a kind of bow that was gona fit in the first part for it to hold strongly (this bow shape its also seen in the first part) the process mentioned here its shown in the first image.
After that i extruded a hole for the lid to fit in as well as the bump that was gona pop in and out when the system rotated, the process mentioned here its shown in the second image.
Here its the stl file for that part.

Making the Desing in Cad (part 3)
Next i proceed to make the third part, i decided to modify the first part changing the bow for another bump that was the one that was gona pop when the cabinet opened and hold it there, also i created a stop in both sides for the bump in par two not go further certain height and break the system and in the other side so when it closes doesn't crash with itself, this process is shown in the image.

Making the Desing in Cad (part 4)
Finally i did a lid for the system when its under pressure doesn't pop off, this one was the easiest one i just sketched a big circle extruded, and a little circle and extruded as shown in the image.
As always here's the stl.

Assembly
For the assembly process here's a video of me explaining it.

Instalation
For the installation we take of the sockets that came with the hydraulic cilinder that was before, screw them in and finally fit them in the mounting pins that are already attached on the cabient the final result its in the image also if you wanna see it in action here its another video:
