I have many wifi NodeMCU microcontrollers saving $1,000/year in various places in the house. Programmed using Arduinio IDE. HMIs are all web pages instead of an app and all programs are uploaded wirelessly to the remote devices. HTML code for the web page is among the control code. Colourful background images are stored in another web page online. Only the address of the image is in the code.
