Netting a Fruit Tree
Quick and easy way to net fruit trees, less than 20 minutes
Supplies
- one large sheet of netting, sufficient to cover the tree.
- one piece of pole/pipe wider or as wide as your tree.
- 10-12 cable ties.
lay the netting out on the ground.
place the pole on the edge so that the center of the nettings side is equal to the center of the pole. there should be overlap on each side of the netting. Fold the netting edge over the pole to cover the pole.
tie the netting to the pole with the cable ties, poking them through the netting. make sure the cable ties are loose, so the pole can be slid out later.
with two people lift the pole up and over the tree, taking the netting with it.
slide the pole out of the netting leaving the cable ties behind, after fruit season is over, reverse operations.
