My Grandma's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Although plain and quite ordinary, these cookies true potential doesn't stand in their contents, but in their character. My grandma made these cookies for me all the time, and that labor of love is what makes these cookies so special. Almost everyone can enjoy a well-made chocolate chip cookie, and I have the simplest and most efficient recipe to get to the peak of the cookie kingdom. Of course, the most important ingredient is love; not to mention the effort is minimal and the payout is astronomical! I truly hope you enjoy making, baking, and masticating these cookies.
Supplies
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups (11.5 oz pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat Your Oven to 375°F
≈ 190°C, 463°K
Combine Dry Ingredients
Add 2 1/4 flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt to a bowl and gently mix evenly.
Combine Wet Ingredients
Introduce 1 cup (2 sticks) of softened butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 packed light brown sugar, and 1 tsp of vanilla extract into a mixer and mix until homogenous. ( don't forget to take a whiff of that wonderful extract before pouring it in ;)
Add Eggs
Simply add both eggs to the combined wet ingredients and mix completely.
Combine
Next, combine your mixed wet and dry ingredients, and mix until it forms a wonderful cookie dough.
Complete the Cookie Dough
Don't forget to add the 2 cups (11.5 oz pkg.) of chocolate chips!
Size 'em Up
Scoop out your cookies to your preferred size. (sneak as many bites as you want, you made them after all.)
Place Them on a Sheet
Make sure to leave room for each cookie to grow ( you'll be proud of how far they've come.)
Bake for 8-12 Minutes or Until Golden Brown
If you're unsure of your oven's efficiency, that's ok. When the cookies are done, they will release aroma compounds that will alert your nose to their completion. Also, don't forget to let them cool on the sheet for at least 5 minutes (they're still cooking).
Let Them Cool, and Stash Them in the Microwave for Safe Keeping ;)
