Making Stained-glass Epoxy

Stained glass epoxy is a beautiful way to make items appear that they have colored glass in them, when really it's just epoxy! you can use these for keychains, earrings, and so much more! I hope that you find this helpful!

1. Table top Epoxy, or Resin
2. A laser-cut piece, or an item with holes in it
3. Several colors of glow in the dark powder for epoxy, or mesa.
4. Several small plastic cups for holding the different colors of epoxy
5. An eyedropper for every color of epoxy
6. A thick covering for your table (make sure you are okay with ruining it, because it will get ruined.

Thats it! Make sure to be careful with the epoxy, it will ruin clothes, and if you get it on your skin, it will not come off until it dries. (It's EXTREMELY sticky! be careful. Epoxy takes a few hours to dry, depending on the type.)

Laser-cut a piece, or find an item with spaces in it that you would like to fill.

After you have found your desired piece, set up your area. An example of an epoxy area is above.

For your area, you should have your tabletop epoxy, a cover for your table, gloves, and other items shown in the images above. Also, you will need a plastic sheet. You will need to put clear glue on the back of your item, to glue it to the plastic sheet. This sheet is used to make sure the epoxy doesn't leak out.

To make stained glass epoxy, you must first mix the epoxy. We used a drill with a stirring piece on the end, and you will need to put half tabletop epoxy, and half epoxy hardener. Mix this with the drill until completely blended. You will be able to tell that it is finished mixing, because the two layers will not be visible anymore.

After you have mixed the epoxy, take the plastic sheet with your items glued down, and put it in an open space on your table. Put the glow in the dark powder in your cups, about a fourth full. Pour in the epoxy, however much you need. Mix the epoxy with your eyedroppers, or with a popsicle stick.

From there, pour the epoxy into your piece using the eyedropper. If there is any spillover, you can sand it off afterward, but still try to be careful!

After you have finished, cover your creations with a clear container, and let set for a few days. After that, you will ave a beautiful epoxy piece!
