Make a Wooden Pendant on a Necklace

It’s nice to have access to many necklace pendants so you can change often. I decided to make a few and found out that it is fun and easy. Give it a try with this instructable.

This Is What You Need

- Two pieces of wood (2 inch x 2 inch and 1/8 inch thick) I used birch and walnut)

- a picture that you want to cut

- wood glue

- a drill

- a clamp

- jigsaw

- wax

- sandpaper

- a rasp

- pliers

- silver wire (or other wire)

Glue

Glue the design on one of the wooden discs. You can dilute the glue with a little bit of water (It will be easier to remove the paper when a you have diluted the glue). Let it dry.

Drill

Drill a hole in the center of your design.

Cut

Prepair your jigsaw and cut your design. When your design is very tiny you can drill some holes in advance. This will make it easier.

Sand and Rasp

Remove the picture with sandpaper and use a rasp to smoothen the edges.

Glue and Clamp

Use wood glue to glue the two discs and clamp them together.

Cut, Drill and Apply Wax

Cut your pendent in the shape you like. Drill a hole. Apply wax on the surface.

Bend and Fasten and Enjoy

Make a ring with pliers and sliver wire. Fasten to pendant. Fasten on the chain and enjoy!
