Jute Threads and Hot Glue!
Hey all,
I wanted to share the making of jute thread and hot glue i made. I had lot of jute threads available with me and have not made much use of it. So here's the making of it.
Supplies
Jute threads
Hot glue sticks
Glue gun
Beads/cloth flowers, for decorating
Any metal vessel
Making of the Base
To make the base, we have to just put the vessel upside down. Then make a mark at the centre, with pencil.
And to the start of the jute thread, i wrapped a cello tape to make the thread not to come out.
Roll Up, the Thread Making the Base
Later on, started to roll the thread around the centre and filled hot glue in between so that the threads stick together to form the structure of the vessel, used as model.
I repeated all through the base of the vessel, until reached the edges.
After finishing the base, do make sure to peel out the threads sticked together so that they are easy to loosen after completing in full.
Completing the Sides
After finishing the base, i just made the thread positioned like the sides of the vessel so that the threads stick together gets the shape of the sides as well.
While finishing i just positioned the thread slightly inward to the thread surface.
Finishing the Basket
I made the glue and threads to dry for a while and started to peel off the threads out of the vessel, by carefully using a knife to peel off the threads from the sides of the vessel.
Adding Decorative to the Basket
I use a few ready-made cloth flowers to attach to the sides of the basket.
Making of the Pen Stand
For the pen stand, i am not only wrapping but also using part of the base vessel. I use a finished detergent liquid container and wrapped the jute thread all around it. While reaching a specific height i wanted, i cut the part of the container. This container will be at the inner side and the thread wrapped will be at the outer side.
Wooden beads are used for decorating.
