Macaroni With Cheese: the Greek Way
Today i will show you a traditional Greek recipe that can be used in almost every kind of pasta.
As i read in this site, many of you have tried this at the Spaghetti Factory. If you liked it at the Spaghetti Factory, now you will love it. It is easy to make, delicious and by reading this recipe you will have the chance to make your homemade dish and impress your guests.
The secret lies on the kind of cheese that we use in our country and the way we cook it.
So let's start!
Starting
Ingredients:
- Pasta
- Olive oil
- Mizithra ( kind of Greek cheese )
If you can't find Mizithra in your country, you can use something relevant to mizithra. Perhaps the Italian ricotta or other dry kind of cheese is suitable.
Take your pressure cooker, fill it with water until the middle, add some salt and some olive oil, 3 - 4 drops are just fine. When the water starts to boil, add your pasta. After 15 - 20 minutes your pasta is ready. Strain out the water and place your pasta in a large plate. (Of course the time of cooking depends on how you want your pasta, so you can adjust the minutes).
Take a coffee pot and pour some olive oil. Heat it. You will know it is ready, when a steam will come out. Remove from fire.
Important: Be careful it is very very hot and you need to heat the oil, not burn it.
Mix your macaroni with the mizithra ( better trimmed ) and sprinkle some on top of your macaroni.
Pour on top of your macaroni the headed olive oil. You are done.
I really hope you will try this! The taste is unforgettable.
