Lego Lock Box

Do you have a nosy sibling, coworker, friend, or family member? Do you have small items that you don't want them to get their hands on? Do you have a large bucket of legos? If you have had a childhood at all, then you do, and it is real fun to build this lock box. I will not delve into the exact pieces you need to place, rather showing you the idea of the build.

The first step is to make a drawer that you can build around. I use "Technic" bricks and pins to keep the drawer from sliding out without properly solving the puzzle. The second part is the key, which has primary purpose of pushing the drawer out. Using the key overrides the Technic bond.

You can keep the key in the lock, or you can add an extra layer of security and hide the key under the "welcome mat".

You can see in the first picture that little technic block extruding from the front. that is the back of the key. If you look at the second picture you see a cross section of the "Doormat".

This is where the puzzle gets hard to solve. if you add a solid lego crossing from the wall into the drawer, you can keep the drawer from opening, regardless of strength exerted on the key. You can take it a step further and hide the dead bolt with another large lego, like in pictures 4 and 5.
