Laser Cut Desk Name Plate (No Glue Version)

NamePlate2.0.jpeg

I used Mr. Beckler's design many times to make name plates and decided to make some changes to avoid gluing. Made the holes 2.9 mm wide to make the connection snug. (You can change the hole width if you are using a different thickness material)

As of the material I prefer 1/8" Eucalyptus White Hardboard from H*meDepot. This materials works great for me. When you engrave it gives you good contrast. It's a bit messy but you can easily wash and dry it with paper towels. You can also use wipes but washing is much easier. It comes in 4'x8' boards and you can ask them to cut it down to size you need in the store to fit in your laser cutter. There is another white colored board in the store which has a smooth surface. I don't recommend that as the top white layer is very thin and fragile.

Simply fill the blue and cut the red lines. After the cleaning insert the hooks of the supports from the holes and push the name plate down. Update the hole width on the name plate if you are using a different thickness material.
