LED Camping Clamp Light

Awesome LED.jpg

How to make a light for camping out of a few inexpensive parts.

It's pretty efficient on power being LED also.

How to Go About It

What you will need:

-LED MR16 downlight globe

-Small spring clamp

-some 2 core wire, as long as you want it

-cigarette lighter plug or alligator clips if you want to go straight onto a battery

-some tape and or heatshrink

How to do it:

1/ Solder the end of the wire to the pins of the globe, polarity isn't important as these globes are designed for AC, insulate the pins from a short circuit using tape or heatshrink tube.

2/ Solder the other end of the wire to the cigarette lighter plug or alligator clips.

3/ Tape the globe to the handle of the clamp.

It's as easy as that, you can then clip the light anywhere you please and providing the cord is long enough. I find them very handy to hang above the bbq when we are camping, to avoid selmonella from under done chicken!

I have attached a variation of the same idea just using a small LED floodlight globe!
