Kick the Can - Make Your Own Cooking Spray
My husband and son came up with this recipe for Butter Flavored Cooking Spray. I like it because it is economical, easy, non aerosol, and environmentally friendly.
12-30-13 Update: My son uses this spray for his food cart business and I use it at home for stovetop cooking. I do not use it for baking. It does leave a residue, like most sprays so I would like to try a different oil base to see if there is less residue. You can also add lecithin, but I haven't tried it.
Butter Flavor Cooking Spray
Mix the following ingredients in a 16 ounce mist sprayer (available at most grocery stores and department stores)
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
3/4 teaspoon Watkins Butter extract flavoring
This is my first foodie youtube. I learned 2 things making the video: 1.) that I can't say mist sprayer and 2.) my son is awesome adding special effects :)
