KISS Principle Stethoscope or Doc McGyver Says........
Hi Everyone, just imagine you are a Doc or EMS, all hell has broken out, there are Blackouts, no power, Batteries are drained, so your most important diagnostic tool is your stethoscope, and of course everyone wants them so these are the items going rare, here is again using the KISS Principle no 3D Printers or complex stuff here, a way to make an improvised stethoscope from materials lay around
Supplies
Stuff you need:
A large bore syringe
some IV tubes or silicon tubes
a T- Piece Hospital or Aquarium
Knife / Multi-tool
Duct Tape
Saw
Done
Make Your Cut
Find a large bore Syringe, I found one in an out of date Larynix-Tubus. Saw just where the rubber from the Plunger is
(remove the plunger before sawing through) keep the front end and clean the edges with sandpaper or blade.
Taking the Plunge(ER)
Take the rubber off the Plunger, (the rest of the plunger and syringe you can ditch) using a blade cut out the top part of the Rubber and place it in the cut off part of the Syringe good side down, these makes a good seal when pressed against the body.
The Tube(S)
Get your IV Tubes or Silicon Tubes and cut 3 lengths, attach the Tubes to the T-Piece, the bottom Tube goes to the Syringe/Rubber the other two are for your Ears.
The End Is Near!
So, for the ear pieces there are several options for example you could get a few baby bottle rubbers and screw the tubes into them, here I have gone for Duct Tape, you know the stuff, got a dark side and a light side and holds the universe together. The point is to make something comfortable to go in your ears for use.
So done, now you just have to screw it in your ears and check your heart if you are still alive or listen to your gut gurgle
if you have just eaten. And yes it do work. Enjoy
