Hydraulic Arm(student Develop Version)
The original design was from "CARDBOARD Robotic Hydraulic Arm" by Technovation in Circuits
this design was developed based on that but changed the Base part and the Gripper part with my idea (which is not necessarily better).
I will show the instruction and the file for laser cutting below as open sources, feel free to download and develop it with your own idea.
Material
What you need:
Cardboard (suggest)
10mml Syringes x 8
2 m soft tube x 1 ( i used rubber hose)
superglue (I used 2g pack x 4, you could use less)
3mm wide stick (depend on how long it is, I use around 20 sticks)
cable tie x 24
Here come two different types of making styles:
1. if ur making this with laser cutting, the board should not be too heavy or soft, Cardboard could be the best for this project, I was using acrylic in my Second prototype which is too heavy for arm and gripper, but it works well in Base part( more stable).
2. if ur making this only by hand cutting, just be careful everything needs to be symmetry, it is easy to fail if there are slopes on the gears or the axis part.
Arm
this part wasn't changed from the original design, just follow the original instruction till step 10
and then stick the 15 teeth gear(the 2 smaller gears, layer them to be one gear) under the arm platform (the circle with a hole in the middle and two rectangle gaps on the side)
The Grip Part
1. place the following items through the stick: left gripper-small joint(square)-house shape board-house shape board-small joint- the other left gripper.
2. place and other stick on the right side and repeat the 1step with the opposite gripper
3. glue the grip (they should face the same direction)
4. glue the arm part with the gape between house shape board.
5. cut the extra sticks.
The Base
glue them in layers but just remember to set the gears and axis in first
following by:
1. the bottom base
2. the axis (for bigger gear) and a used battery (for the small gear with arm)1
3. Set the bigger gear on
4. the second layer - top layer
5. there is a small hole on the top board put an axis(stick) in
6. set the syringe on it just like the way it is set on the arm.
7. then final the arm part set it into the used battery.

Control Platform
the idea was from the video
you will need 2 long sticks, glue, and 4 syringes
and basically, I separate it into 6 parts
1. Base
2. level stairs (long as Base but not that wide) x3
3. lower hole x5
4. higher hole x5
5. the handle x8
6. bricks for handle x16
and the instruction following by:
1. put all the level stairs on the end side of the Base where the rectangle gaps close to end
2. lock them with the higher holes in the gaps (glue them)
3. and glue the lower hole on the other side of the base where has rectangle holes
4. take 4 bricks and stick them together and one handle on each side.
5 sticks go through the lower holes and with the syringes by the cable ties
6. the pressing side of syringes are connected in the middle hole of the handle by a stick
7. the bottom hole from the handle aims to connect to the higher hole
8. use sticks to connect all.
9. stick the platform on aboard.
Set All Tubes On
the way I set the tube is:
1. install water in the tube, use a finger to cover one side so the water won't come out from another side
2. set the other side on the control platform side of the syringe ( then u can let go of your finger)
3. set the other side of the tube on the arm side of the syringe
4. use cable ties to create pressure on the syringe so the water won't come out on both sides
