How to Paint a Fox in Watercolour
In this tutorial you will learn how to draw fox with ribbon in watercolour. For more tips and photos, visit my blog post: How to paint a fox in watercolour.
You are going to need:
- watercolour paint
- pencil
- dip ink pen
- different size brushes
- ribbon
Draw the Ribbon
This step is only if you want to add an accessory to your fox. If you don`t want a ribbon, just skip this step.
Sketch the Fox
Sketch the fox with a pencil. Don`t be afraid to use the eraser. Now is the time to make corrections of your drawing. Once you apply the paint it would be more difficult to make changes. That`s why it`s important to make a fine sketch.
Apply the Main Colour of the Fox
This brush is perfect for making a fur/hair look.
Paint the Shades
Add darker tones, in order to create depth in the painting.
Paint the Eyes
Get into detail. Make the eyes pop out of the painting.Be careful not to make the eyes different.
Final Touches!
Make the painting look real! Use a thin brush or black dip pen. Don`t forget to use as reference the photo of your fox.
