How to Turn Any Audio Into a Ringtone on an Apple Phone
Recourses
For this project you will need an Apple IPhone, the app GarageBand, and any internet video.
Getting GarageBand Set Up
All Apple phones come with GarageBand, but incase yours doesn’t have it all you need to do is go to the App Store and download it (It’s free). Once you have that done press the plus sign at the top right corner and press Audio Recorder. Go ahead and press the button in the top left corner that looks like a bunch of lines.
Adding the Audio
There are multiple different ways to add audio, but I am showing you a simple way. On a different device pull up the internet video you want to be your ringtone. Turn that device on to full volume (you might want to wear earplugs). Line up the phone’s microphone with the second devices speaker. Start off by pressing the record button and once the countdown gets to 1 second press play on your video. Make sure that right when the video ends you press the record button. This will in fact stop the recording.
Putting on the Finishing Touches
Using the arrows on both sides drag them to the the part of the audio you want to be your ringtone. The ringtone will only last about 30 seconds so it is a good idea to have it that long or less. Next, press the small plus on the right side next to the numbers and shorten it to however many sections your audio takes up. Finally press save.
Making the Audio a Ringtone
For this last step press select and press the audio. Now press the upload button and then press ringtone. You can either choose to name your ringtone or not it really doesn’t matter. Now press export and select if you want it to be your text tone or your ringtone.
