How to Transform Your Minecraft Build

Screenshot 2021-01-05 144212.png

Don’t you hate it when you put hours into your Minecraft survival base and it looks bad? And you want yours to look like an actual house?

You try again, put more effort into your builds and it still ends up looking like a square block... >:0

At this point, you would be so mad that you would want to throw your PC from the heights of Mount Everest (Or your controller if you play on console).

Don't worry, I've been there.

In this Instructable, I'm going to show you haw to transform your Minecraft house from something boring to a build that can be good enough to impress your friends! :)

Open up Minecraft and let's go!...

Choose Your Color Pallet

Every good Minecraft builder chooses a color pallet before doing anything. Look at the picture above for examples of good color pallets and bad ones.

NOTE: Click on the pictures and scroll through them. Hover over the squares for captions.

Shape

Screenshot 2020-12-16 130915.png

The shape of the build is a very important step in making a good build.

Look at the first 2 pictures above. Which one looks better? (the 2nd one obviously)

What makes the 2 buildings different?

Its the shape! The first one is a boring, old rectangle. The 2nd one is divided into sections.

(credit to Grian for this idea... check out his YouTube channel for more tips on building)

Floor Plan

In this section, we will learn how to avoid making our build look like the 1st picture form the last section. The floor plan is the main factor that influences the shape of the build.

Use the pictures above as a guide...

Exterior

Now we will be doing the exterior of the build. Follow the pictures above for the steps.

NOTE: This is a demo, you do not have to do exactly what I do. You can do something differently that matches your style and type.

Frames and Supports

Screenshot 2020-12-29 110905.png
Screenshot 2020-12-29 111547.png

This build does look like a house but it's missing something... The roof looks very unstable!

(The patio overhang is literally floating... duh!)

This is why frames and supports make a house look more natural and should be included in a build.

The house still looks plain... maybe windows will add more detail.

Go ahead and take a look at the pictures to learn more about different types of windows.

Decorations

Even though the house is done, It still lacks life. I think it is important for every Minecraft build to tell a story.

Follow the instructions above on how to make your build look better.

Completed House

The following pictures show the completed house from all angles. Feel free to use your imagination and include details from this house into your builds.
