How to Make an Aluminum Foil Jewel

Making a foil jewel is very simple, and you only need a few supplies. This is just for fun, not for any real purpose. Still, they can look quite good.

Supplies

You will need:

- Scissors

-Glue or tape

-2 small 3 inch by 3 inch squares of foil

The Foil

Take one square of foil, and loosely crumple it. The tighter you make the ball, the smaller and thicker it’ll be. After you’re done with that, take something and press it. A tube of paint, or a glue bottle will do. It should be around 1/4 of a cm thick.

You’ll probably see that the flattened foil is in a weird shape, so you can just squeeze the edges a little to make it have a more even shape.

Coloring!

Select more than one color of paint. The jewel is pretty small, so don’t use too many colors! I’m using 2 here. Also, it’d be best if you use only cool colors, or only warm colors, and make sure to have both light and dark colors.
Coat one side with a color. This color will be the main color. Next, put a few drops of the other color of paint on the main color. Then, take a toothpick and swirl it around. If you’re not happy with how it looks, you can put more of one color.
The swirling is to make it look more natural.

Take the other piece of foil, and place the jewel on it. Glue the uncolored side of the jewel to the other piece of foil. Roll in the edges of the other piece of foil until it just overlaps a little with the edges of the jewel. Shapes it as much as you want.
You can use these foil jewels to make bracelets, necklaces, or anything else.
