Prepare the Tuna Can
Use a handheld can opener (or electric if available) to carefully open the tuna can over the sink, avoiding the sharp ends from the cans top. Once you completely detach the top of the tuna can apply pressure with your thumbs onto the lid, over the sink. Drain all of the liquid from the can by pressing down on the top. If you desire a less "fishy" taste run water over the can and press down again, getting rid of all the water.
Put the Tuna Into a Bowl
Using a fork take the tuna from the can and put it into a bigger bowl, large enough to allow mixing later. Then discard the tuna can and lid into the recycling bin. You may leave the fork in the bowl for mixing later.
Add the Condiments
Obtain both mayonnaise and sweet pickle relish. The kind of mayonnaise is up to your preferences, although here we will be using avacado oil mayonnaise. Gradually with a spoon add mayonnaise to the bowl of tuna and mix with the fork. REMEMBER: You can always add more but not take away, so start small and add more if needed. Once the tuna is at the consistency you like add a small spoon of sweet pickle relish and mix. To ensure you like the taste, try your tuna salad before moving on.
(Optional Condiments)
Some additional condiments which you may consider adding include:
Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper
Cilantro
Small avacado chunks
Diced onions
Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper
Cilantro
Small avacado chunks
Diced onions
Prepare Your Sandwich
Grab a clean plate and place two slices of bread on the plate. The type of bread is again up to your own preferences but in this instance we will be using whole grain bread. Scoop the tuna, using the fork, onto one side of bread. Once you have added your desired amount of tuna, place the second piece on top.
Cut the Sandwich
Now that you have made a delicious tuna sandwich cut the sandwich using a large serrated knife and eat!
