Closed TP.jpg

Supplies

•Rope (any string of cordage will work for the knot)

•Sticks (roughly 8ft long) I used 5 sticks, but more is better.

•Tarp (I used an 8.5ft x 11.5ft)

Gather Materials

The first step is to find at least 5 straight long sticks to act as the frame of your teepee. To make the knot tying easier, I laid down all of the sticks on a log, so they were off the ground.

Tie the Knot

First, tie a clove hitch on one of the sticks. I have linked instructions here for tying the clove hitch. Next, you are going to wrap the rope around all of the sticks 3 times. Then, loop the rope in between each of the sticks and finish it off with another clove hitch.

Assemble the Frame

Once the knot is complete, spread out the legs evenly to form the skeleton of the teepee.

Putting the Tarp On

Finaly, wrap the tarp around your frame to form the walls of the teepee. Now you have a functional and fun teepee to hang out in and enjoy!
