How to Make a Simple Fake Bruise (A Total of 3 Ways)

Hello :) So as we all know Halloween is right around the corner and many of us will need to do makeup to complete our look. Here I will be showing you 3 ways to make a fake bruise (and please don't hurt yourself for your costume when you can achieve a look with makeup). I hope you guys like it and it helps you with your costumes! This will look good, and might seem hard at first but, I actually surprised myself too. This is one of the only times that I have ever done makeup, and it honestly turned out pretty well.

First way:

Make-up/eyeshadow palette. Any makeup will do. (dark colors such as blue, purple a bit of red, and black.)

• for an older-looking bruise you can do a more creamy/yellow/greenish color
• A brush, a makeup sponge or you can even use your finger

Second way:

Pencils and paper.

Third way:

Markers

So, this is the most recommended way to make a bruise.

• First, you will need to grab a makeup/eyeshadow palette. You can borrow one from your mom, or friend, or you can buy a very cheap one online or in a store. The main colors that you will need are red, blue, purple, and black.

Step 1:

Preparing

• Make sure to wash the place that your fake bruise will be, in my case, it will be on my arm.

Step 2:

Apply a bit of makeup to your tool (finger or brush)

• Start smoothly applying it to where you want the bruise to be. Be gentle, it may take a bit for you to start seeing it. I recommend first using a purple/blue mixture and adding a bit of red to make it look irritated.

Step 3:

Add a couple of details

• If you want to make the bruise look older add a bit of yellow eyeshadow around it. You can add some scars, cuts, or scratch marks as well.

A tip for cuts: Use a red and black pen to make your cut. Black mixed with red in the center and red on the outside, after that you should blend it a bit.

For this, I will be using the same colors as in the makeup step above. I recommend using older pencils. Get a small sheet of paper and color some spots on it. Then blend it and get some pigment on your finger then apply it to where you want the fake bruise.

Tip: If the pencil powder technique isn't working then LIGHTLY draw on the place you want the bruise off you can shave the pencil above the place and rub the pigment.

For this, I will be using the same colors as in the pencil step above. Start drawing your fake bruise on the spot that you want it to be.

Start with a red dot in the center. (Go easy on the marker so it looks more real)

Then add layers with the other colors.

Blend it all with your finger in circular motions.
