How to Make a Paracord Bracelet
How to make a "Zipper" patterned paracord bracelet in just a few easy steps!
This bracelet is a perfect project for anyone looking to get started with paracord!
They also make great gifts!
I made this one in two different colors so that it would be super easy to follow along, but it can be made in any color combination you want! or with just one color!
And they take less the a half hour to make!!
Supplies
You only need a few supplies to make your own bracelet!
1- Paracord (my wrist is just over 6" and I used approximately 9' total)
2- Buckle
3-Scissors
4-Lighter
That's it!
Getting Started
To get started making your bracelet you will want to cut your paracord in 2 pieces,(I used 2 pieces just over 4 1/2 feet each)
You can use one piece of each color or the same color. I suggest using 2 colors if you are making your first bracelet because it is easier to see what you are doing!
First you are going to feed both pieces through one side of your buckle (Pic #1)
Next pull the middle sections through until they are twice the width of your wrist.* (Pic #2)
Now pull both of the middle pieces through the other end of your buckle-making sure the buckles are both right side up-(Pic #3)
Next fold the middle pieces in half towards the top. And we are about to start making the first knot!
Making the first two knots are the hardest part of the bracelet so make sure you take your time-You got this!!
*You do want to make it a little bit loose otherwise when you make the bracelet it will be snug/tight due to the extra layers of paracord.*
Starting the Bracelet:
Making the first knot:
*From now on the black is called #1 and the green is called #2*
** I make the first knot "backwards" to help secure the middle pieces- all the rest of the knots are made as demonstrated with #2**
Knot #1
Step 1:
Cross #1 under all 4 middle strings.(Pic #1)
Step 2:
Cross #1 back over all 4 middle strings and under the first loop.(Pic #2)
This is where is can get tricky, you need to pull the string tight while keeping a 4 middle string it the knot. (Pic #3) it's okay if they slide out again, just push them back.
Knot #2-how ever many you make.
Step 3:
Cross #2 over all 4 of the middle strings. (Pic #4)
Step 4:
Cross #2 under all 4 of the middle strings and over first loop.(Pic #5) and pull tight- keeping all middle strings in the knot.
This is a how all knots are made in the future.
Making the Bracelet
Continue repeating steps #3 and #4 until you reach the end, alternating sides: eg; do steps #3+#4 with the black and then do both again with the green!!
It should end up looking like this!!
After the first 2-3 knots it's really easy to get the hang of it and you can get it done in no time!!
Make sure you keep a even(tight) tension with all of your knots as you make the bracelet!
Finishing It Off
To finish it off, scrunch all of your knots together and make sure you can't fit any more, then make a "Normal" paracord knot (Pics #1-4)
You want to pull this last knot Very tight and then simply cut off any excess and melt the ends to keep them from unraveling!!
I didn't finish off mine because I wanted to use the paracord for another project:)
Done!
And now you have made your very own bracelet!!
I hope you enjoyed this instructable!
I would love to see any you make!!
