Remove Lables and Ink From Starbucks Frappuccino Bottles

Starbucks Frappuccino drinks are delicious and the bottles can be recycled for many clever craft projects like this one. These bottles are perfect for storing your bath salts and sugar scrubs. However, the labels and the ink printed directly on the bottles are sometimes hard to remove. Here is the procedure that I used to clean the bottles:

1) Drink the Frappuccino

2) Soak empty bottles in hot, soapy water for about 30 minutes

3) Peel the labels off the front and back of the bottles. They should come off easily, but sometimes adhesive residue if left behind. Use a Scotch-Brite Washup pad (or something similar) to scrub off any remaining residue (or use Acetone if you have access)

4) Remove the ink printed directly on the bottle with nail polish remover and some scrubbing (or use Acetone if you have access)

5) Clean bottles with warm soapy water and dry

Here are images of the labels that I created for this project. Feel free to use them or create your own.

I printed the labels out on label paper, then cut them out following the pattern. A bit time consuming but worth it.

Assembly

box.jpg

1) Fill the bottles with the sugar and salt mixtures and add labels

2) Cap each bottle with a cork

3) Fill a small burlap sack with gold foil chocolate coins

4) Place Kraft Crinkle Basket Shred material in the bottom of cardboard box. I got the shred material at a local craft store and the box from a local distributor of packing supplies (approximate size 9X7X5)

5) Arrange the Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold in the box. I also scattered a few loose gold foil chocolate coins around the box to add more gold color

I hope you enjoyed this Inscrutable and have a very Merry Christmas Season
