How to Make a Friendship Bracelet

Today, I will be teaching you how to make a friendship bracelet. Although there are many different patterns, the easiest and simplest one to make is a diagonal pattern.

Supplies

For this craft, you will need string, scissors, tape, a desk, and a good attitude!

Gather Materials

Step 1: Gather your strings together. You have to use at least three string minimum, and you can use any colors your heart desires. For this example I am using four strings; pink, orange, green, and yellow. Also grab some scissors and tape.

Set Yourself Up

Step 2: Cut all of your strings to the same length. Mine are about two feet long, but anything around that works.

Tie a Knot

Step 3: Once you have gathered your strings all together, wrap it around your finger to create a knot so you can begin making the bracelet.

Step 4: Separate your strings from each other and take the furthest one on the left and cross it over the next into a shape that looks like the number 4.

Complete the Knot

Step 5: Pull the original string under the second one to complete your first knot.

Do It All Again (optional)

Step 6: Depending on how thick you want your patterned line to be, you repeat steps 4 and 5 again to create another knot. In my example, I did it twice.

Second Knot

Step 7: After completing the first knot on the second string, move on to the third. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to create another knot.

Next String

Step 8: In my example, I used 4 strings. This step is unnecessary if you have less than that. If you do, repeat steps 4 and 5 again on the last string.

Next Color

Step 9: Repeat all steps with the original second color string you began with.
