IMG_1851.JPG

Hello, my name is LaNae.

There are so many fun facts when it comes to desserts. Did you know that October is National Dessert Month? Another fun fact is that chocolate chips were invented after chocolate chip cookies. I know, crazy right? Lastly, the world’s largest gingerbread house topped out at 2,520 square feet and contained 35.8 million calories.

I’ve had a passion for baking since I was 10 years old. I’m very thankful that baking has come easy to me because it is something that I enjoy doing during my free time. Many of the desserts and baked goods that I make are enjoyed by all. I have had many years of experience learning from my grandma how to bake different goods. Today, I’m going to show you how to make cookie salad. Cookie salad is a simply delicious dessert that anyone can make even if they don’t think they are good at baking. This dessert is simple, fun, and fast. Just follow along with my Instructable.

Step 1: Background Info

Desserts can be very fascinating, as each one has different ingredients. Desserts are typically associated with the evening meal. In some parts of the world, there is no tradition of dessert to conclude a meal.

Step 2: Gather Ingredients and Supplies

To make cookie salad, these ingredients need to be gathered and measured to exact sizes. Bring the whipped topping to room temperature; it will blend better with the other ingredients and result in a tastier final product. Drain all of the juice from the mandarin oranges; only the oranges are needed.

The ingredients needed are 1- 3.4-ounce box of instant vanilla pudding, 1 cup of buttermilk, 2- 11-ounce cans of mandarin oranges drained, 1- 8-ounce container of thawed whipped topping, and 1- 11.5-ounce package of Fudge Striped cookies (2 rows of cookies will be used and they need to be broken into smaller bite-size pieces).

The equipment needed consists of a large plastic mixing bowl with a lid, rubber spatula, mixing spoon, whisk, and a quart size plastic zip-lock bag.

Step 3: Combine Ingredients

Start by pouring the instant vanilla pudding into the large plastic bowl. Next, pour in the cup of buttermilk. Whisk the pudding and buttermilk together until completely smooth. There should be no bubbles. Then, take your rubber spatula and scrape the entire container of whipped topping into the pudding and buttermilk mixture. Take the mixing spoon and mix the whipped topping with the pudding and buttermilk mixture until completely mixed. Next, pour the 2 cans of drained oranges into the whipped topping mixture. Mix the oranges with the mixing spoon so that they are evenly mixed. Lastly, take out 2 rows of fudge striped cookies and put them in a quart size plastic zip-lock bag. Make sure the bag is securely closed and begin by breaking the cookies into smaller bite-sized pieces. After the cookies are broken up into smaller pieces, add the cookies to the mixture.
