How to Make a Crystal Tiara
☆ In this instructable you can learn how to make a beautiful simple tiara made of real crystals. ☆
Supplies
• 11 crystals each approximately 10mm wide or 22 crystals each approximately 6mm wide ( the smaller crystals are easier to work with). I used ' Bead Gallery' brand crystals with pre drilled holes. Keep in mind that the heavier the tiara the more difficult to keep it on your head.
• yarn or string for measuring head ( or taloir measurement tape)
• a ruler ( to measure the string)
• 18 gauge Aluminum wire ( for the head band part/ the base)
• 28 gauge galvanized steel (for stringing and tieing the crystals to the base 18 gague wire).

Gather your supplies listed above.
Then Measure your head with string from the middle of forehead all the way around you head. ( the tiara will not be going around your whole head. You want extra wire that you will be curling on each side with the jewelry pliers (it is better to have more wire than not have enough wire to work with).

After measuring your head take that string and measure the string with a ruler to get measurement for the base wire, cut the string at that length.⁶ Then line up the 18 guage wire and cut the wire with the jewelry pliers the same length as the string you measured.
Arrange the crystals on a table how you may want them to be on the tiara. This is so you have an idea of which crystals to string and tie on to the 28 gauge wire and idea of what order you want them.
Cut the 28 gauge wire at 3 ft long (this wire is for stringing and wrapping the crystals together. There will be approximately 2 to 3 inches extra wire on either side of the strung and tied crystals for tieing them to the base 18 gauge wire).
Take one of the crystals and string it though the crystal leave approximately 4 inches hanging off the end (this will be used for tieing the stung and tied crystals to the 18 gauge base). Then loop the wire around the crystal snugly 2 times. Then string on the next crystal, hold the crystals as close as you can get the them beside each other and then wrap the longer end of the wire around that crystal 2 times and continue to do this with each crystal until all of the crystals are strung and tied/ wrapped with the 28 gauge wire.
Cut another piece of the 28 gauge wire at 12 inches long (this is for wrapping/ securing the strung crystals to the 18 guage aluminum wire base of the tiara).
Wrap the extra wire ends of the strung crystals around the base by looping the wire snugly around and around until there is no more wire left to wrap. Then use the 12 inch 18 guage wire to wrap the strung crystals to the 18 guage aluminum wire base of the tiara. Wrap the wire by starting on one end and work your way by wrapping the wire all the way to the other end of the strung crystals by looping the wire around the base and in between each crystal, looping the wire 2 to 3 times until there is no more wire left to wrap.
Now it is time to curl the ends of the 18 guage aluminum wire base. Start by using you rounded jewelry pliers curling the wire downward. Then you can finish curling the rest of the 18 guage wire by hand.
Once you are done curling the wire and place the tiara on your head for finishing touches you may need the bend the base a little to fit to your head, you can also uncurl some of the base wire to fit you.
Note: I did not need to use bobby pins but you may or may not need or want to use bobby pins to secure your tiara while wearing it.
