How to Make Red Velvet Chocolate Chip Cookies

Have you ever tried red velvet chocolate chip cookies?

This is a very quick and easy way to make these delicious cookies! They taste just like red velvet cake, but it takes a lot less time.

These cookies are a great party treat to spice up your desserts.

Supplies

  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter softened to room temperature (or one stick of butter)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 drops of red food coloring

Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. By the time you are done making the dough, it will be ready to bake!

Flour

Add 1 1/2 all-purpose flour to a mixing bowl.

Cocoa Powder

Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to the mixing bowl.

This will give a rich red velvet taste to the cookies.

Cornstarch, Baking Soda, and Salt

  • Add 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Butter

  • Soften 1/2 cup of unsalted butter at room temperature (1 stick of butter). Then, add to mixing bowl.
  • You can also put the butter in the microwave for 15 seconds.

Sugars

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (lightly packed)
  • 1/2 cup white sugar

Egg

Crack 1 large egg into the mixture.

Vanilla and Food Coloring

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 drops of red food coloring

Mix!

  • Mix dough together by kneading it with your hands til you have a soft dough. Make sure all ingredients are mixed evenly
  • Chill dough in the fridge for 10 minutes. This makes it easier to roll.

Roll

  • Roll dough into small balls with your hands and place on pan. This will make them cook faster.
  • Place white chocolate chips on the dough.

Make sure to spray the pan!

Bake!

Place cookies in oven and bake for 7-9 minutes.

Take your cookies out once they have baked. Let cool for 10 minutes. Then, they are ready to eat!
