How to Make Oreo Balls
I love to make Oreo balls for special occasions and for my friends. They're a simple no bake recipe.
Supplies
You will need:
Ingredients
- 36 Oreos
- 8 oz of cream cheese, room temperature
- 12 oz of your choice of chocolate, melted
Equipment
- Blender/Food Processor
- Tablespoon/Ice cream scooper
- Parchment/Baking Paper
- Mixer
Gathering the Ingredients
Go to your local supermarket or store and buy the listed ingredients above. Pull out your food processor or blender. Grab a tray and parchment/baking paper or tin foil to line the tray. This will make it easier to pick the finished Oreo balls up off the tray.
Crush the Oreos
Grab 36 Oreos and your food processor/blender. Crush the Oreos until they are crumbs. You can set a small amount to the side for later for the dust on top of the Oreo balls, about 2 tablespoons.
Mix Crushed Oreos and Cream Cheese
In a large mixing bowl, grab your room temperature 8 oz cream cheese and your crushed Oreos. Mix the two by hand or using a mixer. Mix until cream cheese is fully mixed with the crushed Oreos.
Start Forming Balls
Once your crushed Oreos and cream cheese are mixed together, line a tray with baking or parchment paper. Then grab an ice cream scooper or the 1 tablespoon measuring spoon. Start scooping from your mix, roll the mix into a ball shape, and place on your tray.
Start Melting Your Chocolate
Once you have made and laid the Oreo balls on your tray, place them in the fridge to cool. During this time melt your chocolate. Place your chocolate in the microwave and stir occasionally or every 30 seconds. Once melted, take your chilled Oreo balls out of the fridge.
Covering With Chocolate
With your melted chocolate and chilled Oreo balls, start dipping the Oreo balls in the chocolate. Make sure to occasionally stir the chocolate to make sure it doesn't harden.
Top and Enjoy
After coating each Oreo ball in melted chocolate, you can use the amount that you set aside earlier to dust the top of the Oreo ball or use some sprinkles of any kind. Make sure to do this step right after dipping your Oreo balls in the melted chocolate, as you don't want the chocolate to harden before you have a chance to dust your Oreo ball.
