How to Make Mashed Potatoes

You will need the following:

  • Potatoes
  • Potato Brush
  • Sink
  • Potable Water
  • Knife
  • Pot
  • Cooktop
  • Bowl
  • Strainer
  • Hand Masher
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Cream

Select (1) Medium Potato Per Person. My Favorite Are Butter Potatoes.

Peel Each Potato, Cutting Out the Bad Spots. an Example of a Bad Spot Is the Dented Area on the Bottom of the Potato on the Right in the Previous Picture.

Wash Peeled Potatoes With a Potato Brush, Re-checking for Blemishes.

Select a Pot Twice the Size of the Potatoes.

Dice Potatoes Into Similar-sized Pieces.

Put Diced Potatoes Into a Pot With Water So That the Water Is ½” Above the Potatoes.

Add Salt to the Water (1/2 Tsp Per Potato).

Turn Burner to Medium Heat.

Boil Potatoes Until They Are Fork Tender (approx. 5-8 Minutes).

Strain Potatoes and Place Into a Mixing Bowl.

Use Hand Masher to Mash (and Stir) Potatoes.

Add Butter (1 Tsp Per Potato) and Cream (1/2-1 Cup) in Small Increments to Desired Taste.

Stir Together and You're Finished!
