How to Make Custom Bracelets With Wrapped Text in TinkerCAD
Hi Everyone!
A few days ago my sister asked me to make her a bracelet with her name on it, thought ok, that shouldn't be too hard. I then found out that there is no easy way to wrap text around curved objects, and found a way I think works pretty well to do this. So today I am going to share that with you!
Supplies
-TinkerCAD software Free/Online
-10 minutes
Making Your Curved Text/Object
I would recommend watching the video as I find it easier to learn if I can see someone doing it but here are the steps I took, I think you'll find that it is much simpler than it seems.
First, get your text and make it the correct size for your object then rotate it 90 degrees like in the video
Next, get the object you want to wrap the text around
Next Ctrl C,V that object so you have a duplicate and make the duplicate bigger than the original (keep the same thickness) Note that the difference in diameters - the thicknesses is how far your text will stick out.
Next Line up both objects use video for reference
Now move text through the circles
Now, make the width of the text large enough to go fully through both circles, and turn both circles from solid objects to holes.
Now you click and drag over all the parts and group the objects
Now for the tedious part, take various shapes (holes not solids) and use them to clear away the extra material (it helps to zoom in for the smaller parts.) this took me around 2 minutes.
Now You have your text! Please Note It will fit around the object we made in step 2
I Highly Recommend watching the video Instead of reading the steps as I think It is easier to understand with the visual aid of me doing it along with the instructions.
