How to Make Cookie in a Mug

Cookies are always a delicious snack, but you don’t always have the time to bake a full batch. Hi, my name is Jessie. I help the average person become an extraordinary baking genius. I can help make quick and easy snacks for one. Today I am going to show you how to make a cookie in a mug. This recipe is greatly loved among my family and friends, and I am sure that everyone else will love it too!

Supplies

Before we get started make sure to have all the supplies necessary for making a cookie in a mug. This includes measuring spoons, eggs, all-purpose flour, brown sugar (light), chocolate chips, salt, sugar, vanilla extract (pure), butter, a coffee mug, and a microwave. With just this list of supplies, a delicious cookie in a mug is only a few steps away!

Butter, Sugars, and Egg

Step 1.JPG

First, put 1 tablespoon of butter into the mug and microwave it for 15-30 seconds, or until it is completely melted. Next, add in 1 tablespoon of sugar as well as 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and stir to combine. Then, add 1 egg yolk. To separate the yolk, either use an egg separator, or just use the shells to help you, which is the method I will be using. When using the shells to help separate the egg, carefully crack the egg, and switch the egg between halves until it has been separated as much as possible.

Adding the Rest of the Ingredients

Step 2.JPG

Remember to separate the egg into a bowl in case the yolk is accidentally dropped. Thankfully after that step, the rest of the project is plenty easy! After the egg yolk is separated and put into the mug, add ½ a teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix well. Following that, add 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, and 1/8 a teaspoon of salt and mix. Lastly for the ingredients add 1-2 tablespoons of chocolate chips.

Microwave & Enjoy!

Everybody’s taste is different, so feel free to add less or more chocolate chips, just remember not to go overboard or the cookie may become too dense with too many chocolate chips. Microwave the ingredients for 40-50 seconds or until cooked. It is important to note that the mug may be hot before you take it out, so be sure not to burn yourself taking it out of the microwave. To check and see if it is done you can insert a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, your cookie is done! Serve immediately but remember that your cookie may be extremely hot. If you want to spice it up, you could add a dollop of ice cream to add that extra flare to your cookie in a mug. Enjoy!
