How to Cook Sausage Rolls
These are simple version that are great for a snack, lunch or cut up small for parties.
Start You’ll Need 1/2 Kg or 1 Pound of Beef Mince.
You can use pork or chicken mince the choice is yours.
Add to the mince:
- 1/2 Tbsp salt
- 1/2 Tbsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp dried thyme
- 1 Tbsp dried rosemary
- 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 Tbsp onion powder
Mix Into the Mince.
Feel free to play around with the flavours, you could change rosemary for sage for explain.
Once fully combined, set to one side.
Next You’ll Need Some Puff Pastry.
I’m a celiac, so I’m using this great puff pastry from Genius, it works pretty much the same.
Flour your bench, before rolling out the pastry.
Turn and roll to the other way.
Continue until it’s about half a cm thick.
Cut Down the Middle, This Will Give Us Enough for 4 Sausage Rolls.
Trim the edges making sure they are squared.
Mould half of the mince into a sausage the length of the pastry.
Place about 2 cm from the edge, start to roll the pastry around the sausage.
Roll Until There a Flat Edge on the Bottom.
Cut off the ends making them neat.
Repeat with the other piece of pastry.
Slice into half making four sausage rolls, transfer to a tray lined with baking paper.
In a Bowl Crack One Egg, Whist With a Fork.
Using a Fork, Poke Air Holes One Cm Apart Along the Top of the Sausage Rolls.
To give the sausage rolls the beautiful golden crust, brush with the egg wash.
Place in an Oven Set to 390f or 200c for 20 Minutes
