How to Cook Rustic Hash Browns (Diner Style)
This recipe is quick and easy for a great weekend breakfast.
Cooking some bacon first will add another layer of flavor.
To Start You’ll Need 1 to 2 Potatoes Per Person.
Grate the potatoes into a bowl, there’s no need to peel these.
Now These Potatoes Have Been Grated We Need to Remove As Much Liquid As Possible.
Layout a tea towel, place the grated potatoes in the centre.
Bring all the corners together and ring out the liquid.
This will help the hash brown form a beautiful crust.
Light a Chimney of Charcoal.
Setup the BBQ for direct grilling.
Place a cast iron pan over the charcoal.
First Thing We Need to Do Is Cook Our Bacon.
I’m using homemade bacon; you can find a link to the recipe in the description.
Need the bacon has fried off, we are left with beautiful bacon fat.
This will add another layer of flavour.
Lay Out the Potatoes in the Pan, Try to Make Sure the Layer of Potato Isn’t to Thick.
Break it up and mix together, we want to cook the potatoes through before it starts to form a crust.
Season with salt and pepper.
Now Let It From a Crust on the Bottom Before Flipping to Cook the Other Side.
Move the Pan Indirect, So We Can Cook Our Eggs.
I like mine sunny side up but the choice is yours.
All That’s Left to Do Is Serve It Up.
Place the hash brown at the bottom followed by the homemade bacon.
Finally top it with the eggs.
