How to Cook Currywurst
This dish is an icon of German food, a bratwurst topped with a curry ketchup and fries.
This dish may not look the prettiest but damn does it tastes good.
Ingredients
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp curry powder
- Bratwurst
To Start, Light a Chimney of Charcoal.
Setup for direct grilling.
Place a Small Pot Over the Heat
Add to the put:
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp curry powder
Mix It All Together.
Bring the sauce to the edge of a boil.
Once heated through, remove from the heat and let cool.
Place a Pot of Water Over the Heat and the Steamer Attachment.
Next, place the bratwurst sausages in the streamer.
• The key to this recipe is having really nice pork sausages.
Cover With the Lid and Let Them Steam for 10 Minutes.
By steaming the bratwurst first, it will give you sausages that are cooked through evenly.
After Ten Minutes Move the Sausages Directly Over the Charcoal to Sear.
Sear on All Sides.
Because they have been cooked through, all you need to do is sear the outsides giving you a crispy skin.
Slice the Bratwurst on the Angle.
To Finish Off, Top With the Curry Ketchup and Sprinkle on a Little Each Curry Powder.
There You Have It! Currywurst!
This dish may not look the prettiest but damn does it tastes good.
The curry ketchup with the bratwurst is an amazing combo.
