How to Take a Picture of Your Computer Screen!!

This instructable will show you a quick and easy way to take a picture of your computer screen and save it on your computer

1. Press the Prt Sc key on your keyboard

• This will take a screenshot of your computer screen and save it to the clipboard
• For some computers it will be just the Prt Sc key and for other computers you will need to press the Fn key at the same time

Windows 7 or Earlier

1. Method #1 : Start Menu

• Go to the Start Menu
• Double Click on the icon to open the program

2. Method #2 : Desktop

• Go to your Desktop
• Double Click on the icon to open the program

Windows 8 or 8.1

1. Method #1 : Side Bar

• Go to the Side Bar
• Click on Search
• Type in Paint
• Click on the icon to open the program

2. Method #2 : Start Menu

• Go to the start menu
• Click on the downward arrow in the bottom left corner
• Type Paint in the search box
• Click on the program to open it
• Instead of searching you can also scroll over until you find the program

1. Press Ctrl + V on keyboard

• This will paste the screenshot you just took into paint

1. Go to File

2. Go to Save as

3. Select the format you want

• PNG
• JPEG
• BMP
• GIF
• JPEG (best format)

4. Type in what you would like to save the picture as

5. Click Save

6. Exit Paint

a) Method #1 : Menu

• Go to the drop down menu
• Select Exit at the bottom

b) Method #2 : X

• Click on the X in the top right corner

1. Go to Pictures

• Double Click on Recycle Bin to open it
• Double Click on Pictures
