Homemade Watermelon Beer
How many delicious things can you make from a watermelon? SO MANY*!! My latest project: watermelon beer. Inspired by 21st Amendment Brewery's Hell or High Watermelon Beer, I wanted to try and make my own version using fresh watermelon juice. It became something else entirely, something differently delicious, so let's get fresh everyone!

*Check out some of my other watermelon projects:

Watermelon Margaritas
Watermelon Salad
Watermelon Mojito Slushie
Be a Cubist
Chop half of one small watermelon into into cubes*. (approx. 4 cups)
*For the best way to cube watermelon, see Step 2 of my Watermelon Salad instructable.
Blend In
Puree the cubes in a blender.
Going Clear
Use a sieve to strain off the watermelon foam, leaving you with just the clear juice.
Refrigerate for at least one 1 hour.
Mix a Lot
Fill a serving glass 3/4 of the way up with beer* and top it off with the chilled watermelon juice.
Give it a gentle stir to mix the two.
*I found the best kinds for this were wheat beers, hefeweizen, and blond ales, but feel free to experiment!
Garnish & Serve
This really ended up being more of a watermelon shandy than a relative of the Hell or High Watermelon Beer, but it was super tasty to me and a really refreshing summer drink. So go forth and stay fresh everyone!
