Homemade Pesto

Who doesn't like pesto? But do you know how easy it is to make it at home with fresh ingredients from your garden. This pesto is so delicious and you can use it for many different recipes.

Supplies

  • 10 basil stems
  • 10 Tbsp of olive oil
  • 100 g parmesan cheese
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 50 gram pine nuts
  • a blender
  • bowl

Mixing the Ingredients

First pour 50g of pine nuts into a bowl. Then add 10 table spoons of oil into the same bowl. Now add 1 and a half table spoon of salt on top.

Adding the Cheese

Now if you already have grated cheese just add in 100 g of your parmesan cheese. And if not cut the cheese into small chunks or if you want you can also just grate the cheese yourself, and add it into the bowl.

Preparing the Garlic

To prepare the garlic first peal of a little bit of the skin. Then take one of the small garlic cloves. Now peal all the skin off and add the garlic into the same bowl.

Basil

For the last step all you have to do is cut of 10 stems from your basil plant. Then wash them under cold water. Lastly remove the big stems away from the leaves (You don't have to remove the little stems). Finally add the basil into the bowl.

Blending and Extras

For the last step just pour the ingredients into the blender and blend it until all the chunks are gone. Lastly pour the pesto into a bowl and if you want you can add a basil leave at the top.
