This is my home made knight costume. I made it from some old pieces of sheet steel that my neighbor had used for car repairs and was finished with. The chest plate is held together with 20 gauge steel wire. The tunic is made from cotton fabric and sewn together with a sewing machine. The chainmail is knit from silver yarn and a knitting pattern found online. The helmet is held together with little nuts and bolts. The metal pieces took me a week to put together. The knitting was done by my mom in several days. My grandma and I sewed the tunic in 2 days.

Supplies

Tools for metal working: tin snips, a drill with 1/8 inch bit, pliers, hammer and sand paper. Supplies: large sheet of sheet steel, 20 gauge steel wire, various small nuts and bolts. Knit chainmail: worsted weight silver gray yarn, large knitting needles and chainmail knitting pattern. Tunic: 1 yard of each color, thread and sewing machine. Pattern was made up.

Cut All the Parts Out and Shape the Pieces Then Drill the Holes
