Homemade Elderflower Syrup
Elderflower syrup recipe is sweet perfect for delicious drinks . Let's try this recipe for a hot summer!
Elderflowers are probably used most often to make a great syrup. However, the flowers are also suitable for making tea, as they have strong anti-inflammatory effects.
Supplies
30 - 40 pieces of elderflower
2 kg granulated sugar
20 g citric acid
2 pcs lemons
2litre water
1. First,flowers of course
1.1 boil the water and let it cool.
1.2 put the flowers in the water
1.3 Add 2 sliced lemons (but you can also squeeze the juice)
-according to your taste - you can also use lime, honeydew, mint
Mix everything well and cover with cold water and let it stand for 24 hours.
1.4 stir occasionally
2. After 24 hours, strain everything,
2.1 you can also use cheesecloth and squeeze the juice into a larger pot.
2.2 Place the pot on the stove with "moderate flame" and start heating.
2.3 add 2 kg of sugar and citric acid, stir until the sugar dissolves
note - the amount of sugar and acid is approximate.
You can use less or more sugar and acid, the resulting taste will depend on it
it will be more or less sweet and sour, and the syrup will be more or less thick.
for example: 1.5 sugar, 1 lemon, 40 g acid
3.When the syrup starts to boil, turn off the stove and
pour the syrup while it is still warm into the bottles, close them.
note- I don't let the syrup boil for very long.
the effort is to keep as many vitamins as possible, they are destroyed by boiling.
So in this case ---------------------- the first big bubbles = turn off the stove
Hope y'all like it.Cheers!
