Homemade Crinkle Cookies
This recipe only makes 12 small crinkle cookies. I made this because it is my favorite cookie. I made this on my own without any help. Crinkles don't include any butter so it has less calories. You can double the recipe if you like.
Supplies
Tools:
1-2 baking trays
Ice cream scoop or tablespoon
Mixing bowls
Parchment paper
Whisker and spatula
Ingredients:
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup all purpose or plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons confectioner sugar (for coating)
Step 1: Mixing the Wet Ingredients
Mix the cocoa powder, white sugar and vegetable oil in a medium-sized bowl. Beat in the egg, until it is fully incorporated. Mix in the vanilla extract.
Step 2: Mixing the Dry Ingredients
Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Combine the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir until a dough forms. Put the dough in a container or cover the bowl with wrap and refrigerate for 3-4 hours depending on how much you make.
Step 3: Coating the Dough Balls
Grab one or two baking trays and line them with parchment paper. Get a tablespoonful of the dough, depending on how much you made, and grab a smaller bowl and add the confectioner's sugar. (Tip: use an ice cream scoop for the dough balls) Place the dough ball into the sugar, until fully coated and place the dough balls on your baking trays.
Step 4: Baking
Preheat oven to 350 F for about 10 minutes. After preheat, bake the cookies for 6 minutes. (If you doubled the recipe, bake for 8-10 minutes) After taking them out of the oven, let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes.
