Hiding Space Inside a Clock

Have you ever looked at a desk clock and said, "Wow, that looks like a good place to hide something!" Neither have I. And hopefully, neither has anyone else! :D

In this Instructable, I will be showing you how to make a secret compartment inside your clock. It's super easy and can be made with only a few simple items laying around the house!

Materials:

• Analog Clock- the cheaper and less fancy, the better. Make sure you can take the back off it!
• Popsicle Sticks- You can buy a box of 1000 at any craft store, but you'll only need a few!!
• Hot Glue Gun and hot glue sticks
• Cutting Pliers
• Screwdriver to open your clock

This is super easy! Use the screwdriver to open your clock. Hopefully, it will look something like mine. Be sure not to open the battery pack but the actual clock.

Decide where you want your compartments. Make sure they won't be under the battery pack, but to the side of it.

Using the pliers, cut the Popsicle sticks so that they are the right lengths to form a square. You only need 3 sides, since the last side is the clock itself.

Once you've measured the length your walls will be, start building them! In my clock, they only needed to be 2 sticks high. Glue smaller Popsicle sticks to the ends so you have a nice, smooth edge.

Now you should have 3 walls that are fairly strong!

Now, glue the walls into the clock. You will not need a covering because once the back of the clock is on, it acts like a lid to hold everything in place.

It is optional, but you can create another compartment on the opposite side using the same steps as before. I had to make it a funny shape because there were parts of the clock in the way, but it turned out great, anyway!

Just screw the back of the clock on, and your finished!! The clock is great to hide small things in because no thief will give it a second thought.
