Headphone Stand With Built in Wireless Phone Charger
I have to admit, I'm a bit disorganized. I've misplaced my electronics a couple times and it's always a pain to find the USB chargers at night. I wanted a headphone stand that can charge both my phone and headphones, while being eye-catching.
Supplies
- AutoDesk Fusion 360
Inspiration
I was searching up some models of headphone stands looking for a colour palate that is similar to my desk, and came up with a half wooden/metal design. The wooden part would contain a wireless qi charging system for my phone, and a USB-A port to attach a cable from. I can then hang my wireless headphones on the metal part and charge them using the USB-A port.
Rough Sketch
I drew what I wanted in this headphone stand with the main features identified.
- USB Port
- Cable connection
- Wireless Charger Pad
- Headset Rest
CAD Models
I created the headphone charger stand solely in Fusion 360, and imported the phone and Bose Headphone Models from the AutoCad Free Library.
Appearance
There are multiple ways to customize this, mainly swapping out materials. My original design with being a wood and metal can be changed several ways to suit personal tastes and décor.
Renders
- Shows the base model without any accessories.
- Shows the base model with headphones attached.
- Shows the base model with both headphones and phone attached.
Final Thoughts
The process of designing something for myself was refreshing and gave me the confidence to make this a beautiful model. This turned out to be a fun idea, and I would love to create more DIY 3D Models in the future. I would like to try doing something more detailed and mechanical once I have the technical jargon down.
